Windsor Great Park to Dorney ( second time in 48 hours!) 23 miles

Hubby was cycling today, but one of his two regular mates couldn't go, so a spare seat in the van. I suggested I lead them round the lovely ride I did on Monday....... hoping I could remember the way! No one was more surprised than me that we didn't get lost.

A treat within 5 minutes of our start, were this groups deer crossing the road right in front of us. Why did this not happen on Monday when I had my GoPro!!

A cycle path runs alongside the main road through the park, and the wild buttercups are looking gorgeous. The Castle off in the distance.

Same tea stop as Monday, just next to Dorney House. I had cake this time!

Then a lap around Dorney Lake. Still fighting against the incessant wind. When is the weather going to calm down?

I saw these boats on Monday, but didn't get the chance to photograph them. Love the colours.

Hubby can never resist red poppies.

Tony's knowledge of the bird names was helpful. We spotted Grebes, Turns, Swallows, House Martins, and Cormorants.

Great crested Grebes

Next along the tow path of the Thames, where I has spotted this church on Monday's ride, but did not get the chance to stop. It is St Mary Magdelene, just next to Boveny Lock. It was built before the Normal Conquest.  No long in use, but the key is held by the lock keeper, so we decided to go for a look. My film club  Reading Film and Video Makers are considering hiring it as a filming location next season, so it was an ideal chance to take a look inside.

Finally back to Windsor, and the climb back UP to Bishops Gate entrance to the park..... the deer were still there!
